Internship Program Interns are generally high school students who are members of GPMC and former Seekers who have applied to work in Christian Education while continuing to grow in their faith.

Seekers A confirmation and commissioning group designed for ninth graders (and high school students) who want to explore their faith and grow closer to God. Seekers meet at the church on specific Saturdays throughout the year and participate in two weekend retreats. Working with an adult mentor (whom they choose as their guide), youth learn  more about their relationship with God, faith, worship and the Bible.

Summer Mission and Fellowship Trips

High School Mission Trip

Each year senior high youth participate in a mission project where they serve and learn about the world.  For a number of years, youth from GPMC have travelled throughout the country (and world) to serve others in the name of Christ.  This year we will travel to Joplin, Missouri the week of June 16-23, 2012.  In 2011, the city of Joplin was the site of a devastating tornado that ruined homes, schools and communities.  We will be involved in the ongoing cleanup and reconstruction of the area.  Registration is now open and materials can be picked up in the Christian Education office.

Previous GPMC High School Mission Trips
Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico (2011) - Thirty-eight youth and adults headed to Puerto Rico in June, 2011 for an amazing experience of mission, worship and outreach.  The picture to the left shows a children's park that was cleaned of graffiti, scrubbed and painted.  Two houses were scraped and painted as well.  Together, we interacted with the people of Puerto Rico, learned more about serving God with our hands and hearts and moved out into the world to do God's work.

Charlotte, North Carolina (2010) - We participated in ministries throughout the Charlotte area. We stayed at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, a church that hosts mission groups throughout the summer. The 2010 senior high mission trip occurred June 19 through 28. Information and pictures are available throughout the church.

Jamaica Mission Trip (2009) - We had an amazing time working with the Caribbean Christian Centre for the Deaf in Montego Bay, Jamaica.  Construction, fellowship and worship surrounded our time together. It was a priviledge to serve this innovative and caring school.

Georgia Mission Trip(2008) - We had a great time in Marietta and Kennesaw, Georgia working with the Cobb County Development Office to do repairs for low income residents. We divided into five work teams for roofing projects, building decks, repairing fascia, landscaping, tree trimming and more. Each night we stayed at the North River Baptist Church, ate meals, worshiped together and had small groups. The trip was an awesome way to serve God and other people.

The Costa Rica Mission Trip (2007) - This was an awesome time of service to God. We had 3 teams of 20 people. One team built a handicap ramp at an elementary school. Another team dug the infrastructure for a low income housing neighborhood. The last team tore down a church and assembled a new church on its footprint. We stayed at the Portantorchas Bible School in San Jose.

The Navajo Mountain, Utah Mission Trip (2006) - We offered home repairs for the Navajo people. We also hiked the Grand Canyon and explored the Tonto National Forest in central Arizona.

Middle School Mystery Trip

Each year the middle schoolers of GPMC put their faith in each other and in their leaders to go on a four day mystery trip. Although the location might be a closely guarded secret, what isn't secret is how much fun these trips really are!

Past middle school mystery trips include Chicago, Illinois (2010), Louisville, Kentucky (2009), Columbus, Ohio (2008), Cincinnati, Ohio (2007) included King's Island, The Beach Water Park, tubing down the White River, The Simpson's Movie at the drive-in and the Newport Aquarium where we petted live sharks. The 2006 Mid High Mystery Trip went to Muskegon, Michigan for four days of lemon drop wars (consistency is important), go-karts, the beach, and the Unity Christian Music Festival with Hawk Nelson, Thousand Foot Crutch and Newsboys.
