Worship at GPMC
Grosse
Pointe Memorial Church uses the Reformed principles of worship for
organizing its worship life. Basic to these principles is that worship
stands at the heart of our communal life and that it is the most
important thing we do together as a community of faith. For more about
Reformed worship and how we organize our worship, please Click Here
Atmosphere:
Our worship services are family friendly, intergenerational gatherings
where we have children's sermons, worship kits, and children's
bulletins to help our youngest worshipers. Children 2nd grade and
younger are invited to a special program entitled "Young Children and Worship"
after the children's sermon. There is no dress code for worship at
GPMC; come as you are and know that we give thanks for your presence in
worship. Sometimes pets are even known to grace our services
Schedule of Services:
From the second Sunday in September until the Sunday
before Memorial Day weekend, worship services at Grosse Pointe
Memorial Church are usually at 9:00am and 11:00am, with Christian

Day to the first Sunday in September, our worship schedule switches to
an outdoor, lakeside service at 8:30am and indoor service at 10:00am.
There are exceptions to this schedule. There will be only one service at 10:00am. on May 30, September 12, November 28, and December 26.

We also have wheelchairs, walkers, canes, ample handicap parking, and
special greeters for those who need extra help in entering the building.
Childcare:
We welcome children of all ages in worship. For those families who need
assistance with younger children, we offer crib and toddler child care
under the supervision of paid professionals and volunteers every
Sunday, from 8:45am to 12:15pm.
Baptism:
Baptisms at GPMC are a joyous occasion to welcome our newest members,
whether they are babies or adults. As such, it is a standard practice
that we baptize only children of members or adults seeking to become
members.
Communion:
We serve communion monthly, on the first Sunday of the month. At GPMC,
all those who trust in Jesus Christ are welcome to take communion. In
order to insure that as many people as feel called can take communion,
we offer gluten-free bread and grape juice as part of our communion
elements.
Sunday Celebrations:
Every Sunday is a celebration of God's love for us, but some Sundays
stand out in the life of our church. For a PDF listing of our
special Sunday Celebrations, please Click Here
