Baptisms

We are overjoyed to celebrate baptisms with families. Baptism is an experience that publicly proclaims God has chosen us, loves us, and calls us into God’s Kingdom. In baptism, we participate in Jesus’ death and resurrection by dying to what separates us from God and being raised to newness of life in Christ. 

Adults and youth are baptized on their own profession of faith, as they publicly proclaim God’s claim over their lives, and the forgiveness of their sins through Jesus Christ. We baptize infants and children based on their parents’ faith until that child is mature enough to make that faith their own. What a gift! 

To have your child baptized, at least one parent (or person exercising parental responsibility) must be a member of GPMC, as we make promises together to encourage your child in the faith of Jesus. For adults being baptized, membership is also encouraged—Following Jesus is not a solo endeavor. It takes a church to journey with us on the way!

At GPMC, baptisms take place at any public worship service, generally the 2nd - 4th Sundays of the month.
